Outreach - Arts in Education
in Public Schools
|
Using the California and National Visual and Performing Arts standards,
we work together with teachers
integrating dance and the arts into the classroom as a creative tool in educational and personal success. |
|
Using arts in education, children are exposed to a world of possibilities, fostering classroom discussions, exploring creative problem solving and team-work, enhancing critical and creative thinking skills, and developing a self-confidence that will last a lifetime. |
|
Performing Arts Program
An introduction to both conceptual and practical elements of musical theatre and jazz dance. Students will learn and perform a dance selection from a popular American Broadway musical. The basic elements of dance and theatre techniques will be explored and developed, while also understanding choreographic principles, musical phrasing, rhythm, and using dance as a way to create and communicate meaning. |
Poetry/Creative Writing Program
Students will create an original poem or story with a subject of the classroom teachers choice. Master instructor will combine students projects together to create one original poem. While using the poem, students will create original movements, using dance to express emotions, and to create and communicate meaning. This program culminates with a performance for family and friends. |
|
Classical Dance Program
We offer a specialized curriculum in dance where dance technique, terminology, choreography, repertory, and performance skills are introduced, enhancing coordination, balance, body awareness, poise, and flexibility. A performance concluding the session is optional.
We currently offer: Pre-School Creative Movement and Ballet, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern and Musical Theatre. |
|
Ballet Imagination

Background information on a cultural heritage, such as music, poetry, geography, chants, and dances will also be used for historical purposes and recognized as a vehicle of cultural expression. |
